 Since May 2002, IIEC
established an operational office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The city was selected
because remains as the "Energy Capital": main companies (as Petrobras and Eletrobras)
and organizations (as PROCEL and ONS) have their head-offices in the ancient capital
of Brazil.
