Philippine Transportation Initiative (1998 - 1999)

IIEC implemented a participatory transport planning process for Metro-Manila, which included four 2-day workshops for 36 participants from government, non-governmental and, private-sector organizations.

IIEC trained the facilitators in participatory processes and oversaw the conduct of the workshops. The workshops resulted in the identification of 24 specific initiative concept papers to improve Metro Manila's transport system. The participants came up with action plans for implementing seven of the initiatives. The initial workshops were funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. Follow-up work in 1999 was funded by the U.S. Country Studies Program. Funding Agency/Client: U. S. Agency for International Development and U. S. Country Studies Program
