Sonia Shukla, Senior Project Manager
Sonia Shukla has 12 years of experience in renewable energy, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, clean air, and sustainable development. She has worked with several multilateral and donor organizations such as The World Bank, ADB, IFC GIZ, USAID, and other foundations. She is presently working with IIEC as Senior Project Manager and handling Air Quality, Renewable Energy, and Electric Vehicle sector projects. She leads the IIECs team for Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) funded project to build air quality monitoring and tracking capacity among government, industrial, and utility partners.
She led a study in India of assessing the technical and economic impact of electric vehicles on the electricity grid and local air quality for Forum of Regulators. She was also involved in developing unique and innovative DSM programs under the Standard Offer Program framework and has carried out load research for several distribution utilities. She developed e-learning and classroom learning modules on Demand Response and EVs for regulators and DISCOM. She was involved in developing innovative strategies for the promotion of rooftop solar in the residential consumer segment and worked with financial institutes & end consumers on capacity building and to identify and alleviate challenges in the solar rooftop sector. She led the development of India’s first Climate Finance Knowledge Portal hosted by NABARD and the training of the officials. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from TERI School of Advanced Studies and completed level-3 of the CFA program.
