International Survey of Electrical Product Testing and Laboratory Costs (2018)

The project aimed to collate and catalogue information on product testing prices and test laboratory set-up, operations, maintenance costs in countries around the world. IIEC identifies strategic alternatives to setting up test labs in the form of case studies to help better target resources from governments and donor organizations supporting energy efficiency policies and programmes.

Activities covered by IIEC during the project were: 1) Conducted desk research on products, test methods, and costs of product testing and test methodologies/standards for air conditioners, lighting products, television, motors, and domestic refrigerators. 2) developed a spreadsheet and enter the test methodologies and testing costs into the spreadsheet. 3) Analyzed the information collected and obtain the missing data.
