Advancing Demand Side Management: Second Training Program on Technologies and Evaluation in the Philippines
Building on the success of the initial training program on DSM – Principles and Fundamentals, the second training program on “Demand Side Management (DSM) – Technologies and Evaluation”, organized by the Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) and the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC), was successfully held as a 2-day session on May 28th-29th, 2024, at the DOE's main building, in Manila, Philippines.
This program aimed to enhance knowledge in the design and implementation of various energy efficiency (EE), renewable energy (RE), and DSM-related information technologies. The program covered DSM technology characteristics and benefits, the energy project development cycle, and the use of the 'DSM Calc' tool to evaluate benefit-to-cost ratios of DSM projects.
Participants in this advanced session included DOE staff from the Energy Utilization Management Bureau (EUMB), Electric Power Industry Management Bureau (EPIMB), and Renewable Energy Management Bureau (REMB). The program also welcomed representatives from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and National Electrification Administration (NEA), ensuring a comprehensive and collaborative approach to enhancing EE and RE practices across the sector.
